What is EarliPoint?
EarliPoint uses eye-tracking technology to see how your child looks at and responds to short videos. This gives us helpful information about how your child pays attention to people and social interactions.
How does EarliPoint help with an autism evaluation?
EarliPoint provides information about how your child pays attention to social information. These results, along with other information about your child's development, help us better understand their strengths and needs.
Is an EarliPoint evaluation the same as a full autism evaluation?
EarliPoint provides valuable information as part of the autism evaluation process. If results indicate autism-related concerns, we connect you with providers who can complete a comprehensive evaluation, including reviewing your child's development, communication, play, and behaviors to determine whether they meet the criteria for an autism diagnosis.
How long does the EarliPoint assessment take?
The eye-tracking portion takes about 15 minutes. Please allow extra time for intake paperwork, discussing your child's development, and helping your child get comfortable. Please arrange childcare for siblings, as we ask that only the child being evaluated attend the appointment.
What ages can benefit from an EarliPoint evaluation?
Our evaluation services are available for children ages 16 months through 7 years. If you have questions about your child's development, communication, social engagement, or milestones, an evaluation can help you better understand their strengths and determine appropriate next steps.
Can EarliPoint be used to monitor my child's progress over time?
Yes! EarliPoint can help track changes in your child's social attention and development over time. Follow-up assessments may help identify developmental growth, monitor progress after services, and flag potential concerns, including possible developmental regression, so families and providers can determine whether additional support or evaluation may be needed.
What happens after the evaluation?
We’ll review the results with you, answer your questions, and discuss next steps. If the results indicate concerns related to autism, we’ll help connect you with providers who can complete a comprehensive evaluation and determine whether your child meets the criteria for an autism diagnosis.
